Submarine Crash Photos
I came across an old story about
USS San Francisco, SSN-711, hitting an uncharted undersea mountain while traveling at high speed about 500 ft deep
.
Here are the photos:
I know that the standard submarine alloy is HY-80, a weldable high strength steel with a yield of about 80ksi.
So, from the damage, does anyone want to try to figure the speed it was traveling at?
